I have finally moved 2.0 to the trunk and tagged the last version of 1.x in the trunk as 1.1.

2.0 is not usable yet as a complete UI solution, but the concept has expanded greatly since its original inception since the long-term goal of jSeamless is now UI framework + complete 3D engine in Java.

See the following blog post to get some additional information about what 2.0 touts so far:

http://www.matthicks.com/2009/08/jseamless-20-is-coming.html

More will be coming soon and anyone interested in collaborating with the new code-base is very welcome, but I'm working heavily on code, so it might be a while before you see much more from me until the "Star Wars demo" is ready to be released. Smiley

Wondering about the OpenGL use here... Will jSeamless 2.0 be connected to a particular implementation like JOGL or LWJGL or is it abstracted? Or are you even going through jME or A3D?

Or are you just making it so generic that it would be easy enough to extend for different uses?

Currently it's entirely dependent on JOGL and at the moment I have no plans to change that.  I would prefer to use LWJGL except JOGL has its magic certificate that makes a huge difference if you want to write an applet.

jSeamless 2.0 is intended to do everything jSeamless 1.x does but also add complete 3D engine support.  The idea is to merge the business UI concept with the gaming 3D engine to get an extremely powerful framework.  I'm definitely looking for some additional help (particularly in the 3D and OpenGL specific realm) if you're interested? Sadly I am having trouble finding time even for my game project.. but I keep trying... So I cannot really help but I will probably continuously keep an eye on jSeamless as it develops...

And still waiting for Galaxies Beyond and AI API.
You really should not put up teasers that only keep teasing... Smiley

hehe, well as is often the case when you are developing something in your spare time, the paying jobs dictate what you can spend the majority of your time on. Smiley

what kind of 3D engine ... ? it's so large: where should be the frontier between an UI and a 3D engine ?  These are two differents things Smiley

what I'm planning is along the same lines as Ardor, but a much more structured design rather than the standard scenegraph mentality.  Much of what I've developed thus far has been specific to 2D UI functionality, but everything is intended to keep in mind 3D functionality.
