Well, I'm doing something wrong...   Grin

I tried using the stickied SVN download links for JGN and JME Networking and I'm getting hundreds of error messages.  Is revision 1277 the most current one?  I thought I saw references to Java 1.4 mixed in with it.

While I'm new to Java and Eclipse, I thought I had a handle on this since I was able to get JME and JME Physics to install and run the test cases successfully under Java 1.6.

If anyone has the patience to point my in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.  So far, all the other JGN/Eclipse info that I have found has been dated.  The layout of the controls in Eclipse are different or the SVN references are out dated, etc.  An updated walk through of the installation process would be nice.

To get JGN working you should only need to add build path references to the items in the lib directory. To do that you can expand the lib path in the package explorer, select all the jars, right-click, Build-Path -> Add to build path and everything should compile happily.

Beauty, that got the first one working.  For those that might run into this thread later...

With the JGN core, I had to right click individually on junit4.1.jar and magicbeans.jar.  You can not select a group and right click for the group.  This will create a new folder called Referenced Libraries with the two jar files in it.

Next up is the JME Networking, this also requires some build path editting, but of a different type.  At the top level (the JME Networking trunk), I right clicked, selected Build Path and then chose Configure Build Path.  This opens a dialog box of properties, for now, I just click on the second tab called Projects.  I then clicked on the Add button twice, once to add the JGN core project and a second time to add JME.  This allows it to find the external references and build properly under Eclipse.

JME Physics Networking is similar to JME Networking, but it needs four project references; JME, JGN core, JME Networking, and JME Physics 2.

The GTGE networking package requires a combination of both methods.  You need to go to the confuration and add JGN core as a project.  It makes a reference to something called com.golden.gamedev.object.*.  To find that, you need to open the lib sub folder and right click and add golden_0_2_3.jar and jgn.jar to the build path.

Of course, if I'm getting anything wrong, please correct me...

Sounds about right!  What version of Eclipse are you running?  I can select multiple JARs and add them to the build path in the latest version of Eclipse...

It's the relatively recent 'Galileo' release of Eclipse IDE for Java.  I'm going to guess 3.5.

It is possible that I botched something the first time around.  Adding the jars individually wasn't that big of a burden.
